Moving At The Speed Of Government

We received today in the mail a card from the Pennsylvania Department of Health upon which to record our son’s immunizations.

For the record, our son is now a little over four months old and just had his second round of immunizations completed yesterday.

You’d think that they could simply send the immunization record card together with the birth certificate, which arrived many months ago. However, that would apparently make too much sense.

On a completely unrelated note, I forgot how to spell the word “bureaucracy” when attempting to tag this post. Upon looking it up in the dictionary, I discovered to my surprise that there are two acceptable spellings for the plural form of the word “bureau.” Both the obvious “bureaus” and not so obvious “bureaux” are considered okay to use in the English language. Did you know that? I surely didn’t. . .

I am going to find a way to write something about two bureaux this weekend, just so I can use it. Hey, look at that. I already did it.
